GE Appliances, a Haier company, Air and Water Solutions continues to revolutionize residential water heater solutions with the all-new GE Profile™ GEOSPRING™ Smart Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater, the most advanced heat pump water heater in the industry[1].
According to the Department of Energy, water heating makes up about 18% of a home’s energy use and is typically the second largest energy expense in any home[2]. The GE Profile GEOSPRING utilizes advanced heat pump technology to provide up to 4.7 times more energy-efficiency than standard electric water heaters and is up to 20% more energy efficient compared to other heat pump water heaters, leading to significant savings on energy bills. The FlexCapacity feature, made possible with a patented, electronic integrated mixing valve, can provide up to 60% more hot water [3].
Smart features through the SmartHQ™ app gives owners total control, enabling them to monitor energy usage and costs, adjust temperature and capacity and set custom schedules. A Wi-Fi-enabled sensing anode rod alerts owners when replacement is needed, extending the water heater’s life and performance.
The GE Profile GEOSPRING is also equipped with Wireless Leak Detection and Smart Valve Shutoff, saving homeowners from potential water damage. It also includes built-in demand response capabilities to communicate with utility companies and to optimize energy use when rates are lowest, and it acts as a thermal battery, heating water during off-peak hours to save users money.
In addition to these key features, the GE Profile GEOSPRING also has flexible connected features including five operational modes giving users the flexibility to switch between Heat Pump Only, Hybrid, High Demand, Standard Electric and Vacation. It is also available in 240- and 120-volt options to fit a variety of installation requirements. The 120-volt option also allows it to be plugged into a standard outlet, creating more flexible location opportunities for installation and can be an ideal replacement for owners converting from gas to electric.
